Llanfairarybryn, a parish in Carmarthenshire. The parish lies on the Sarn Helen Way, on the rivers Bran and Towy, at the S end of Cilicwm Forest, 1 mile N of Llan-dovery. Post town, Llandovery (R.S.O.) Acreage, 22,91of land and 76 of water; population of the civil parish, 1157 ; of the ecclesiastical, 736. The former parish church is on the site of a Roman station, and is now used as a chapel of ease to Llandovery, another church having been built. The name Llanfairarybryn signifies " Mary's Churchon the bill." The living is a vicarage in the diocese of St David's; net value, £219 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of St David's.
