Description
Llanwnen, a parish in Cardiganshire, near the influx of the river Granell to the Teifi, 3 miles W by S of Lampeter. It has a post office under Llanybyther; money order and telegraph office, Llanybyther. Acreage, 2545 ; population of the civil parish, 269; of the ecclesiastical, 537. Llwyn-y-Groes is a chief residence. Remains of an old fort are at Castell Du. The living is a vicarage, united with the perpetual curacy of Silian, in the diocese of St David's; net value, £197 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of St David's. The church is dedicated to St Gwynin.
