Chevet, a township in Roystone parish, W. R. Yorkshire, 2 miles from Notton station on the M.S. & L.R., and 4 S by E of Wakefield, which is the post town; money order and telegraph office, Miller's Dam. Acreage, 839; population, 86. Chevet Park is the seat of the Pilkington family, who are lords of the manor.
