Description
Camblesforth, a township in Drax parish in the W. R. Yorkshire, between the rivers Ouse and Aire, 2 1/2 miles N of Snaith. The station is at Carlton, 1/2 mile distant, on the Hull and Barnsley railway. It has a post office under Selby, money order and telegraph office, Carlton. Acreage, 2132; population, 301. Lord Beaumont is the lord of the manor. There is an endowed school for the education of children up to seven years of age.
