Description
Burniston, a village and a township in Cloughton parish, N. R. Yorkshire, on the coast, 3 1/2 miles NNW of Scarborough, with a post office under Scarborough, which is the money order and telegraph office. Acreage of township, 1480; population, 299. There are Wesleyan and Baptist chapels. The manor belongs to the Duchy of Lancaster.
