Description
Austonley, a township in Holmebridge parish, W. R. Yorkshire, on the river Colne, 2 miles SW of Holmfirth railway station, and 6 1/2 SSW of Huddersfield. Population, 1428. Many of the inhabitants are employed in manufactories. There are Wesleyan and Free Methodist chapels.
