Airton, a township in Kirkby-in-Malhamdale parish, W. R. Yorkshire, on the river Aire, near the M.R., 6 miles SE of Settle. Acreage, 2558; population, 212. It has a post office under Leeds. The telegraph office and station is Bell Busk on the M.R.
