Description
Sherrington, a parish in Wilts, a quarter of a mile SE from Codford station on the G.W.R. Post town, Bath. Acreage, 1315; population, 154. An ancient castle of the Giffards was here, and is now represented by a moated mound. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Salisbury; gross value, £220 with residence. The church is good.
