Description
Corsley, a parish in Wiltshire, on the border of Somerset, 3 1/4 miles from Frome, and 4^ from Warminster station on the G.W.R. It includes the hamlets of Whitboume Springs, Temple, Longhedge, Whitboume Moor, &c., together with part of Chapmanslade. It has a post office under Warminster. Acreage, 3056 ; population, 926. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Salisbury; value, c£195 with residence. Patron, the Marquis of Bath. The church, dedicated to St Margaret, was rebuilt in 1837. There are Baptist and Wesleyan chapels.
