Stoughton, a parish in Sussex, 5 miles from Emsworth station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and 6 NW of Chichester. It contains Walderton tithing, Forest Side hamlet, and part of East Marden village. Post town, Emsworth. Acreage, 5374; population of the civil parish, 604; of the ecclesiastical, 325. There is a parish council consisting of nine members. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Chichester; net value, £180 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of London. The church is Early English. The vicarage of Forest Side with Stansted is a separate benefice.
