Description
Pett, a parish in Sussex, on the Military Canal and on the coast, 3 miles from Ore station on the S.E.R. It has a post and money order office under Hastings; telegraph office, Ore. Acreage, 1941; population, 282. There is a parish council consisting of five members. A large tract was overwhelmed and destroyed by the sea in 1250. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester; net value, £295 with residence. The church was rebuilt in 1864, and is in the Decorated English style, with a lofty shingle spire.
