Heene, Sussex

Description
Heene, a parish in Sussex, on the coast, with a station on the L.B. & S.C.R., 60 miles from London, and about half a mile W of Worthing town. Post town, Worthing. Acreage, 426; population, 1691. There are several mansions, a first-class hotel, baths, assembly rooms, and waterworks. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester; gross value, £120 with residence. Patron, the Archbishop of Canterbury. The church was built in 1873, and is in the Gothic style, with tower and spire.
