Description
Graffham, a village and a parish in Sussex. The village stands on the Downs, 4 miles SW of Petworth station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and 4 1/2 SE of Midhurst, It has a post and money order office under Petworth; telegraph office, Selham. Acreage of the civil parish, 1714; population, 407; of the ecclesiastical, 625. The view northward above the village is very grand. The living is a rectory, annexed to the rectory of Wool Lavington, in the diocese of Chichester; gross value, £270 with residence. The church was thoroughly restored in 1874, and has a tower and spire.
