Description
Friston, a parish in Sussex, on the sea-coast, near Beachy Head, 3 1/2 miles WSW of Eastbourne station on the L.B. & S.C.R. Post town, Eastbourne. Acreage, 1439; population, 92. Friston Place is a mansion chiefly of the 17th century, and possesses features of interest. The living is a vicarage, annexed to the vicarage of East Dean, in the diocese of Chichester. Patrons, the Bishop and Dean and Chapter of Chichester alternately. The church is good, and; was restored in 1891.
