Description
Framfield, a village and a parish in Sussex. The village stands near the river Ouse, 1 1/2 mile E by S of Uckfield station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and has a post, money order, and telegraph office. The parish comprises 6468 acres; population, 1663. Framfield Park is a principal residence. Some of the land is under hops. Iron-working was once carried on. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Chichester; value, £380 with residence. The church is ancient, cruciform, and good, and has a brass of 1595. There is a Baptist chapel. Blackboys is a village in this parish.
