Cocking, a parish in Sussex, having a station on the L.B. & S.C.R., 63 miles from London, and 9 N of Chichester. It has a post office under Midhurst; telegraph office at the railway station. Acreage, 2598; population, 449. The surface is hilly. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester; value, £212. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is Norman, with Early English additions, and is prettily situated.
