Chidham, Sussex

Description
Chidham, a parish in Sussex, on Chichestcr Harbour, 2 1/2 miles SW of Bosham station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and 41-W of Chichester. Post town, Emsworth. The area is 1524 acres of land and 1136 of tidal water and foreshore ; population, 241. The variety of wheat known as the " Chidham white " was first grown here. Red ochre is found. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Chichester; value, £133 with residence. The church is Early English.
