Description
Birdham, a parish in Sussex, on Chichester harbour, and on the Arundel and Portsmouth Canal, 4 miles SW of Chichester station on the L.B. & S.C.R. It has a post office under Chichester, whicli is the telegraph office; money order office. West Wittering. Acreage, 1810 of land and 182 of foreshore and water; population, 453. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester; net value, J6300 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Chichester. The cliurch dates from the close of the 14th century, and was restored in 1883.
