Ashurst, a parish in Sussex, on the river Adur, 3 1/2 miles N of Steyning, and 2 SSW of Partridge-Green station on the L.B. & S.C.R. Post town, Steyning; money order and telegraph office, Partridge-Green. Acreage, 2335; population, 327. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chiches-ter; net value, £280. Patron, Magdalen College, Oxford, The church is small but good, and was restored in 1877. Ashurst, a hamlet in East Grinstead parish, Sussex.
