Description

Brantham, a parish in Suffolk, on the river Stour, 2 miles NNE of Manningtree station on the G.E.R., and 7 1/2 SSW of Ipswich. It has a, post office under Manningtree, which is the money order office; telegraph office, Stutton. Area, 1882 acres; population, 695. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich ; net value, £400 with residence. Patron, Emmanuel College, Cambridge. The church is a building of rubble in the Early Decorated style. There is a xylonite factory.
