Description

Brandeston, a village and a parish in Suffolk, on the river Deben, 3 1/2 miles SW of Framlingham station on the G.E.R., and 5 NW by N of Wickham-Market, under which there is a post office; money order and telegraph office, Framlingham. Acreage of parish, 1246; population, 413. Brandeston Hall is a chief residence. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £80 with residence. The church is a building of flint in the Perpendicular style. There is also a Congregational chapel.
