Description
Beyton or Beighton, a parish in Suffolk, 2 miles SSE of Thurston station on the G.E.R., and 5 ESE of Bury-St-Edmunds, under which it has a post and money order office; telegraph office, Bougham. Acreage, 644 ; population, 338. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely; gross value, £210 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church was thoroughly repaired in 1892. Beyton House and Poplar House are country seats in this parish.
