Description
Wall, a township and an ecclesiastical parish in Lichfield St Michael parish, Staffordshire. The township lies on Watling Street, 2 miles SSW of Lichfield, and includes the site of the Roman Etocetum, where Roman bricks and pavements and other Roman remains have been found. Acreage, 645; population, 109. Wall House and Aldershaw are the chief residences. The ecclesiastical parish includes the township of Pipe Hill, and was constituted in 1843. Population, 177. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lichfield; net value, £170 with residence. Patron, the Rector of St Michael's, Lichfield. The church was built in 1853.
