Newborough, a village, a township, and an ecclesiastical parish in Hanbury parish, Staffordshire. The village lies 4 miles SSW of Sudbury station on the North Staffordshire railway, and 7 SE by S of Uttoxeter. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Burton-on-Trent. The township comprises 2872 acres; population, 574. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1862. Population, 519. There is a parish council consisting of seven members. It also returns one district councillor. Hollybush Hall is the chief residence. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lichfield; net value, £270 with residence. Patron, the Vicar of Hanbury. The church has an embattled tower and is good.
