Thurloxton, a parish in Somerset, 3 1/2 miles W by N of Durston Junction station on the G.W.R., 5 1/2 SSW of Bridgwater, and 5 1/2 from Taunton. It has a post office under Taunton; money order and telegraph office, North Petherton. Acreage, 563; population, 210. The manor belongs to Viscount Portman. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £170 with residence. Patron, Viscount Portman. The church is an ancient building of stone, and has been enlarged.
