Description
Stowell, a parish in Somerset, 1 1/2 mile W of Temple Combe station on the Somerset and Dorset railway, and 4 1/2 miles SSW of Wincanton. Post town, Sherborne; money order and telegraph office, Temple Combe. Acreage, 932; population, 94. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £105 with residence. The church was partially restored in 1891.
