Description
Hatch Beauchamp, a village and a parish in Somerset. The village stands near the Hatch station of the G.W.R., 6 miles SE of Taunton; has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Taunton, and was once a market-town. The parish comprises 1408 acres; population of the civil parish, 397; of the ecclesiastical, 382. Hache Court and Hatch Park are principal residences. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; value, £165 with residence. The church is ancient but good, and consists of nave, aisles, and chancel, with a tower; a new organ was placed in it in 1875. There are Baptist and Wesleyan chapels.
