Description
Chaffcombe, a parish in Somerset, on the Chard Canal, 2 miles NE of Chard railway station, and 3 1/4 S by W of Ilminster. It has a post office under Chard, which is the money order and telegraph office. Acreage, 1016 ; population, 192. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £121 with residence. The church is Early English, and was restored in 1859 and 1881. The rectory house was built in 1886.
