Description
Ryton, a village and a parish in Salop, near the river Worf, 4 miles S by E of Shifnal. It gave the title of Baron to the Craven family. Post town, Shifnal. Acreage, 1449; population, 171. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lichfield; commuted value, £445 with 52 acres of glebe and residence. The church was restored in 1874 and enlarged in 1886.
