Description
Barford St Michael or Great Barford, a parish and a village in Oxfordshire, on the river Swere, 5 1/2 miles SW of Banbury, and 2 S from Bloxham station on the G.W.R. Post town, Oxford via Deddington, which is the money order and telegraph office. Acreage, 1134; population, 295. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Oxford; gross value, £192 with residence. The church is Early English, with line Norman door. There is also a Wesleyan chapel.
