Description
Normanton, a hamlet in Southwell parish, Notts, on the river Greet, half a mile NE of Southwell. It was formerly a separate parish, and had an ancient church. Normanton Hall was formerly the seat of the Cartwrights, and occupies the site of a seat of the Hunts, built in the time of Edward IV.
