Edingley, a village and a parish in Notts, near the source of the river Greet, 3 miles WNW of Southwell, and 1 mile from Kirklington and Edingley station on the M.R., with a post ofiice under Southwell; money order office, Farnsfield; telegraph office, Southwell. Acreage, 1750; population of the civil parish, 279; of the ecclesiastical, which includes Halam, 543. The living is a vicarage consolidated with Halam in the diocese of Southwell; net value, £300. Patrons, the Bishops of Manchester and Ripon alternately. The church was thoroughly restored in 1893. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
