Description
Cropwell Butler, a large village and a township in Tythby parish, Notts, near the Fosse Way and the Grantham 'Canal, 2 1/2 miles from Radcliffe on Trent station on the G.N.R., and 7^ ESE of Nottingham. There is a post and telegraph office under Nottingham; money order office, Bingham. Acreage, 1890; population, 478. There are 'Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels. 1 Crosby, a township in Flixborough and Frodingham parishes, Lincolnshire, 7 1/2 miles E of Crowle. Acreage, 3181; population, 366. There is a Primitive Methodist chapel here. Ironstone is worked.
