Bothamsall, a village and a parish in Notts, in the vale of Idle, near the dumber and Thoresby Parks, 5 miles from Checker House station on the M.S. & L.R. Post town, Ollerton, under Newark. Acreage of parish, 2481; population of civil parish, 272 ; of ecclesiastical, 264. The Duke of Newcastle is lord of the manor and sole landowner. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Southwell; gross value, £50. Patron, the Duke of Newcastle. The church is good.
