Yeavering, a township in Kirk Newton parish, Northumberland, 4 1/2 miles NW of Wooler, and 1 1/4 mile from Kirk Newton station on the N.E.R. Post town and money order office, Wooler; telegraph office, Kirk Newton railway station. Acreage, 868; population, 49. Yeavering Bell, a bell-shaped mountain of the Cheviots, 2000 feet high, with a summit of about 16 acres, enclosed by an ancient wall, traversed by an ancient paved road, and marked by Druidical remains.
