Description
Throckley, a township in Newburn parish, Northumberland, 2 miles from Eyton station on the N.E.R.,and 6 WNW of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Post town, Newcastle; money order and telegraph office, Newburn. Acreage, 771; population, 1464. There are collieries and fire-brick works, also a chapel of ease, and Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels.
