Greystead, a hamlet and an ecclesiastical parish in Northumberland, on the S side of the North Tyne, 5 miles from Bellingham, and 1 1/2 mile from Tarset station on the North British railway. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Falstone. Population of ecclesiastical parish, 205. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Newcastle; net value, £132 with residence. Patron, Greenwich Hospital. The church is a building in the Gothic style, and was restored in 1879.
