Fawdon, a township in Gosforth parish, Northumberland, 3 miles NNW of NewcastIe-upon-Tyne, which is the nearest railway station. Acreage, 527; population, 500. There are collieries in this parish. A fossil tree was found here at the forming of a coal shaft.
