Description
Coxlodge, a village and a township in Gosforth parish, Northumberland, 2 1/2 miles N by W of Newcastle city and station on the N.E.R., with a post office under Newcastle-on-Tyne; money order office, Kenton; telegraph office, Gosforth. Acreage, 828; population, 5607. There are Roman Catholic and Free Methodist chapels, the County Lunatic Asylum, and Roman Catholic schools. The inhabitants are employed in the collieries and brickworks.
