Description
Callaley-with-Yetlington, a township in Whittingham parish, Northumberland, 5 1/2 miles N by W of Rothbury railway station. Post office, Newcastle; telegraph office;, Glanton. Acreage, 3990; population, 259. Callaley Hall is the seat of the Browne family, and includes some portions of an old castle. Callaley Crag is crowned with remains of a Roman entrenchment. There is a chapel of ease.
