Description
Yarwell, a parish in Northamptonshire, on the river Nene, 1 mile N from Nassington station on the Peterborough and Market Harborough section of the L. & N.W.R., 6 1/2 miles NNE of Oundle, and 8 1/2 W of Peterborough. It has a post office under Wansford (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Wansford. Acreage, with Sulehay Lodge, and Locks Lodge, 1210; population of the civil parish, 305; of the ecclesiastical, with Nassington, 912. There is a parish council consisting of seven members. The manor, with most of the laud, belongs to the Earl of Westmorland. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to Nassington; joint net value, £212 with residence. The church is ancient, in the Transition style, and consists of chancel, side aisles, nave, and western tower. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
