Description
Walgrave, a parish, with a village, in Northamptonshire, 4 miles SE from Lamport station on the Northampton and Market Harborough section of the L. & N.W.R., and 6 SW from Kettering. It has a post and money order office under Northampton; telegraph office, Moulton. Acreage, 2382 , population, 563. The manor, with much of the land, belongs to the baronet family of Langham.: The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough. Patron, the Bishop of Peterborough. The church is a building of stone in the Early Decorated style, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, S transept, porches, and a western tower with lofty octagonal spire. It has some ancient monuments and two chained black-letter books. There are two Baptist chapels.
