Description
Tiffield, a small village and a parish in Northamptonshire, 2 miles N of Towcester, and 3 SSW of Blisworth Junction on the main line of the L. & N.W.R. There is a post office under Towcester; money order and telegraph office, Towcester. Acreage, 1267; population, 215. The manor with much of the land belongs to the Hesketh family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough; gross value, £245 with residence. Patron, Lord Southampton. The church, which was restored in 1873, is an ancient building of stone in mixed styles, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, S porch, and an embattled western tower.
