Kilsby, Northamptonshire

Kilsby, a parish in Northamptonshire, on Watling Street and the Oxford Canal, adjacent to Warwickshire, 5 1/2 miles N of Daventry. on the L. & N.W.R. main line passes through the Kilsby tunnel, which is about 1 1/2 mile in length, and there is a station 1 mile N of the village. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Rugby. Acreage, 2576; population, 516. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough; net value, £200 with residence, in the gift of the Bishop of Peterborough. The church, a fine building of stone in the Early English style, was restored in 1868. There are a Congregational chapel and a few small charities.
