Eydon, Northamptonshire

Eydon, a village and a parish in Northamptonshire, 21 miles N by E from Moreton Pinckney station on the East and West Junction railway, and 9 SSW from Daventry, with a post office under Byfield (R.S.O.); money order and telegraph office, Byfield. Acreage, 1666; population, 377. Eydon Hall is the chief residence. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough; gross value, £450 with residence, in the gift of the Bishop of Peterborough. The church is good, and has a Norman font. A Wesleyan chapel was founded in 1860.
