Culworth, a village and a parish in Northamptonshire, 3 miles SW from Moreton Pinkney station on the East and West Junction railway, and 7^ NE of Banbury, with a post and money order office under Banbury; telegraph office, Ward-ington. Culworth was formerly a market-town under a charter granted in 1264. Acreage, 2299; population, 461. The living is a rectory and a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough; net yearly value, £450 with residence. The church is ancient and good, and consists of nave, aisles, chancel, and porch. There are Baptist and Moravian chapels. There is an endowed school and there are several useful charities.
