Croughton, a village and a parish in Northamptonshire, contiguous with Bucks, 3 1/2 miles SW of Brackley town and station on the L. & N.W.R., with a post, money order, and telegraph office under Brackley. Acreage, 2162 ; population, 598. Croughton Park is a chief residence. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough; net yearly value, £500 with residence. The church is Norman, and consists of nave, aisles, and chancel, with a low, square tower. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
