Description
Woodbastwick, a parish, with a village, in Norfolk, 2 1/2 miles from Salhouse station on the G.E.R., and 8 NE by E of Norwich. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Norwich. Acreage, 2081 of land and 122 of water; population, 264. Woodbastwick Hall is the chief residence, and is a fine mansion of red brick in the Elizabethan style. The living is a vicarage, united with Panxworth, in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £320 with residence. The church is a building of flint in the Decorated style, and was thoroughly restored in 1878-79 under Sir Gilbert Scott
