Description
Wickhampton, a parish in Norfolk, 2 miles NNE of Reedham station on the G.E.R., and 4 S by E of Acle. Post town, Acle. Acreage, 1661; population, 116. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; net value, £140 with residence. The church is an ancient building of flint in the Early English style, and has been restored. It is remarkable for the recumbent figures of the founders, Sir William and Lady Carbrigge, and also for the ancient paintings on the walls. The figures and paintings are of 12th century date. There are also many objects of interest to the antiquary in the church. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
