Harling, West, a parish in Norfolk, 2 1/2 miles S by W of Harling Road station on the G.E.R., and 7 1/2 E by N from Thetford. Post town, Thetford; money order and telegraph office, East Harling. Acreage, 3116; population, 135.

The manor, with all the property, belongs to the Nugent family, whose seat is West Harling HalL The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich, in the gift of the Nugents; net value, £86 with residence. The church is an ancient building of flint in the Decorated style, has an embattled tower, and contains some brasses. It was restored at the cost of Sir E. C. Nugent, Bart., in 1890.
